Pricing

The price per team to participate for a whole season is $150, though this can be cut by up to $20 by bringing in buzzer systems ($10 per buzzer – max of 2). More than 1 team per school is allowed. If you have any further questions relating to pricing, please feel free to contact us at pathakar@lhprep.org.

Rules

All FQBA matches are run on standard quizbowl rules, similar to the ones used by NAQT. However, there are no bouncebacks, and we use 12-minute halves.

Advancement

All our matches use NAQT Invitational sets for questions, providing the best practice for those looking to participate in tournaments such as HSNCT (High School National Championship Tournament). Teams can also qualify for HSNCT at FQBA events, a significant achievement for any team.

What is Quizbowl?

Quizbowl is an exciting academic competition where teams of students compete to answer questions about various subjects such as history, science, literature, and general knowledge. Participants use buzzers to buzz in and answer questions, testing their knowledge and quick thinking skills.

How Does Quizbowl Work?

In Quizbowl matches, a moderator reads questions to the competing teams. Team members compete to buzz in first and correctly answer the questions. Points are awarded for correct answers, and there are often different rounds and formats used in competitions.
